Dr's Horng and Teo Each Receive "Growth Improvement" Awards From Greater Newport Physicians
IRVINE, July 8, 2008 – Woodbury Medical Group (WMG) announced today that two of its physicians received “Growth Improvement” awards from Greater Newport Physicians (GNP). The award is given to physicians who have more than 200 new GNP patients in a given year. Only three awards were given out of all GNPs affiliated physicians.
When asked to what he attributed the rapid growth, Dr. Horng remarked, “WMG strives for excellence in the quality of care we provide. The practice has been developed around a patient-friendly structure. We are open on weekends, provide extended hours, and welcome walk-ins for both urgent and primary care. We are available to our patients when they need us; we listen to them and care about their health and well-being.”
Dr. Teo added, “We are respectful of our patients’ time and have made a significant investment in order to allow patients to be seen in a timely manner. Our office is equipped with a state-of-the-art electronic medical records system, which promotes the highest quality of care. We are able to take the time to sit down and listen to our patients in order to accurately assess, treat and discuss possible options for medical care.”
Prior to founding WMG, Dr. Horng, was a faculty member at the UCLA Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Horng has significant experience in primary care, urgent care, occupational injuries, and ergonomics. He enjoys being an educator and believes that patient advocacy and empowerment is the key to long-term health.
Dr. Teo, former Chief Resident at UCLA, previously worked for Plaza-Towers Primary Medical Group in West Los Angeles, UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health Center, and Kaiser Permanente in Clairemont Mesa. She enjoys working with patients as a guide and advocate along the path to achieving and maintaining good health.
